Description
Morning Light
12” x 9” • Oil on Board • Signed Pamela Turnbow
Bathed in soft, pastel tones, Morning Light captures a quiet barn scene just as the day begins. A simple structure rests gently in the foreground, touched by the warm glow of early morning. Behind it, a purple field stretches toward a delicate line of trees, creating a peaceful, almost dreamlike atmosphere.
Painted en plein air during the First Brush of Spring competition, this 12” x 9” oil on board won Honorable Mention and was later featured in an Indianapolis art magazine covering the Hoosier Salon show in Broad Ripple. It’s a piece that blends technical grace with heartfelt memory.
This painting also marks a turning point in the artist’s journey. Pamela Turnbow was rooming with fellow artist Joy Thompson when she painted it, and she vividly remembers a conversation that morning—Joy asking, “Why are you painting?” That question stayed with her, shaping her voice and vision as an artist. Since then, Morning Light has traveled with Pamela, always holding a special place in her home and heart.
A meaningful piece for collectors of plein air work, soft landscapes, or paintings that hold both beauty and story in every brushstroke.
