Pure Joy
24” x 18” oil on canvas, signed Pamela Turnbow (2010)
Pure Joy is a luminous celebration of movement, spirit, and youthful exuberance. Created in 2010 by Pamela Turnbow, the painting was inspired by a young girl the artist encountered while visiting Wyoming in 2009. The piece quickly became one of Pamela’s personal favorites and was later featured in her solo exhibition at the Robert Henri Museum in 2017, where it was purchased by a collector of American art.
The most touching compliment the artist ever received came from that very collector—who initially believed the painting was an original work by Robert Henri himself. For Pamela, it was the highest affirmation of her work and a moment she treasures deeply.
The painting captures the young girl mid-spin, beaming as she turns toward the viewer. She wears a flowing orange dress adorned with colorful ribbons, a bold orange bow, a green-and-orange headband, large gold earrings, and a joyful necklace of bright silk flowers. The vibrant palette and expressive brushwork echo the essence of joy, while the composition draws all focus to the girl’s exuberance and radiant energy.
Pure Joy lives up to its name. It is a portrait of life in full motion—celebratory, bold, and timeless. Perfect for collectors of Southwestern and American figurative art, this painting is both a visual delight and a heartfelt tribute to the human spirit.

A Mother’s Love
16” x 20” oil on canvas, signed Pamela Watson
A Mother’s Love is a deeply personal and tender painting created by Pamela Watson as a gift for her first-born grandchild. The work captures a quiet moment between a mother cow and her newborn calf, standing close together in a sun-drenched green field. Their closeness and posture speak to protection, warmth, and the unspoken strength of maternal love.
Behind them, a grove of trees stretches outward, offering gentle shade. Through the lacy openings in the branches, a vivid blue sky peeks through—adding a sense of openness, calm, and hope to the composition.
Painted in rich oils, A Mother’s Love is more than a rural scene; it is a visual prayer for safety, nurturing, and the sacred bond between parent and child. For collectors drawn to themes of family, nature, or new beginnings, this painting offers a heartfelt reminder of where love begins.
