Description
Wild and Wooly
10.5” x 10.5” • Graphite on Paper • Signed Pamela Watson
Bold, textured, and full of personality, Wild and Wooly is an award-winning graphite drawing featuring a striking Jacob sheep—known for its distinctive horns and wooly coat. This 10.5” x 10.5” piece was honored at the Honeywell Center’s Black and White Show for its expressive detail and strong composition.
The inspiration came during the First Brush of Spring plein air event, where Pamela Watson encountered the sheep while out painting. Having grown up raising sheep herself, she’s long been drawn to their character and complexity—and this drawing is a tribute to both.
Rendered in fine graphite with a deep appreciation for form and texture, Wild and Wooly captures the wild spirit and quiet gentleness of one of nature’s more unique creatures. A perfect piece for collectors who love animal portraiture, rural life, or award-winning black-and-white work.
