Busby Heritage was painted on site during a meaningful visit to the Northern Cheyenne Nation in August 2008. The artist was staying in a cabin on the property of a family who was generously hosting the visit. One afternoon, their granddaughter came by, and the artist was moved to capture her portrait as she sat quietly on the back porch of their home.

With warm, natural light and sensitive brushwork, this portrait honors both the young girl’s presence and the deep sense of heritage that surrounded the experience. The painting reflects connection, memory, and respect for the cultural richness of the place and people who made the moment possible.
