Painted on location during a 2014 journey to Yellowstone National Park, Yellowstone Lake Breeze captures the serenity and motion of a perfect early June day. Seated at a picnic table overlooking the vast expanse of Yellowstone Lake, Pamela Watson sketched and painted this scene as clouds drifted across brilliant blue skies and the water below shimmered in reflection.

The piece combines fluid watercolor washes with expressive ink linework, evoking the lightness of the air and the movement on the lake’s surface. A line of trees along the left edge anchors the composition, drawing the viewer’s eye into the open landscape and toward the distant mountain horizon.

This painting brings the wild, peaceful energy of Yellowstone to life and invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and take in the stillness and sweep of nature.
