Window Light
Original Watercolor | 4” x 4” | Small Works Series
Painted quietly during a prep period while substitute teaching at a local high school, Window Light is more than a study of a plant in a classroom window — it marks the beginning of a creative ritual. With the day’s tasks complete and a travel kit always on hand, the artist took a moment to reconnect with her practice.
Framed by soft gray tones of the classroom, the gentle greens of the potted plant glow with life, hinting at the world beyond the glass. This piece became the first in a growing series of small daily works — a grounding practice of painting, stitching, or creating to restore peace and balance.
Window Light is a quiet reminder that beauty can be found in the in-between moments — if we pause long enough to see it.
