Description

Untitled (Sheep) – 29″ x 20.5″ – Acrylic and Ink on Paper – Signed Pamela Watson

Born out of an emotionally demanding graduate school project, this raw and layered work confronts the devastating toll of child exploitation. At its center, an abstracted sheep emerges from a distressed surface, overlaid with the words evil, disgusting, creepy, love — fragments that surface and recede like memories that refuse to fade.

The artist employed squeegees to drag and distort the paint, creating textures reminiscent of a graffitied wall weathered by time. The surface bears multiple layers of acrylic and ink washes, where marks are lost and found, echoing the enduring scars survivors carry, sometimes decades later. The sheep — at once innocent and unsettling — becomes a haunting metaphor for vulnerability, endurance, and the persistence of trauma beneath the passage of years.

This is a statement piece, uncompromising in its honesty and visual power, ideal for collectors seeking artwork that engages both the eye and the conscience.
