8.5” x 5.5” • Ink on Toned Paper •

Created on-site at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City during a student trip with the IPFW art department, Study at the Met #2 captures a poignant moment between two sculptural figures—an angel embracing a reclining woman. This 2012 ink drawing by Pamela Robinson was completed while she was an undergraduate student and reflects her early commitment to observational practice and emotional storytelling through form.

Drawn on gray toned paper using black and white ink, the study brings sensitivity and structure to the composition. The toned surface allows for dramatic contrast, with dark ink defining the figures and white highlights bringing out the tenderness of the angel’s gesture and the softness of the reclining form.

Though unsigned, this intimate piece offers a glimpse into the artist’s formative years and her ability to find depth and connection in classical works. Ideal for collectors who value museum studies, figurative drawing, and the quiet power of hand-drawn lines.
