Study at the Met #1
5.5” x 8.5” • Ink on Toned Paper • Signed PSR Pamela Robinson, 2012

Study at the Met #1 is a small ink drawing rendered on-site at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Created during a student trip with the artist’s undergraduate classes at IPFW in 2012, this study focuses on a Tibetan Buddha sculpture—capturing its serene presence and sacred form through careful observation and expressive linework.

Executed on gray toned paper using both black and white ink, the drawing makes use of contrast and gesture to convey the calm strength and spiritual weight of the figure. The toned background allows both shadow and highlight to emerge, giving the piece a dimensional, almost sculptural quality.

This piece stands as both a study in reverence and a memory of artistic growth—ideal for collectors interested in sacred art, museum sketches, or early works that reflect thoughtful attention to form and tradition.20
