Painted on a windy spring day with the Baltimore Art Club, Shelter and Bloom offers a quiet, inviting view of St. John’s Church in Western Run, Maryland. Seeking refuge from the gusts, the artist found this perspective especially welcoming — a serene composition framed by the graceful sweep of evergreen branches arching across the upper left, gently guiding the viewer’s eye toward the church and the path ahead.
