Gliding Light captures a serene yet radiant moment—a swan moving gracefully across a still pond at sunrise. Painted in rich, glowing hues, the swan is rendered in luminous purples that shimmer as white in the morning light. The pond and sky reflect vibrant oranges with subtle highlights of yellow, creating a sense of warmth and peace that radiates from the canvas.

This painting was inspired by cherished memories of the First Brush of Spring plein air event in New Harmony, Indiana, where the artist spent several meaningful days painting alongside two of her daughters and her grandsons. The experience of creating art together in a place full of light and history is woven into every brushstroke.
