Painted on a misty morning at Cromwell Valley Park in Baltimore County, Cromwell Morning captures the quiet beauty of early light dissolving the fog. A stately tree stands guard in the foreground, its branches gently arching over a white picket fence. A break in the fence draws the viewer’s eye into an open field, which leads to a wooded area fading into the soft silhouette of a distant hillside. Rendered in gentle greens with delicate ink linework, this plein air piece was created during a 2025 outing with the Baltimore Art Club. The composition invites a sense of calm curiosity—an invitation to wander deeper into the peaceful Maryland landscape.
