Central Park NYC
5.5” x 8.5” • Ink on Toned Paper •
Drawn during a student study trip with the IPFW art department in 2012, Central Park NYC is a quiet, observational ink study that reflects the artist’s early interest in capturing place and atmosphere. While seated just inside Central Park, Pamela Robinson sketched this elegant urban landscape using black and white ink on tan toned paper.
The composition centers on a graceful tree with eloquent, arching branches. A set of steps and benches grounds the scene, while a softly suggested building in the background offers a gentle reminder of the city’s presence beyond the park’s natural beauty. The contrast between detailed foreground and faint architectural lines evokes a feeling of calm and distance—an intimate moment within a bustling city.
This 5.5” x 8.5” drawing showcases the artist’s sensitivity to environment, structure, and the subtle poetry of public spaces. Perfect for collectors who appreciate plein air studies, urban nature scenes, or travel sketches with emotional depth.
