Still Raving
8” x 8” • Graphite on Paper • Pamela Watson
Still Raving is a powerful continuation of a visual meditation that began in March 2020. Created in December of the same year, this drawing features a raven staring directly at the viewer—unblinking and resolute, as if demanding we bear witness to the ongoing storm of chaos and confusion. The artist, like the raven, spent much of that year in disbelief—watching, listening, and searching for a way to process the relentless waves of crisis, misinformation, and loss.
Rendered in detailed graphite on paper, this piece was featured in Pamela Watson’s solo exhibition Out of Context at the Harrison Center for the Arts in Indianapolis, Indiana. The show explored themes of dislocation, disruption, and emotional endurance during a time when so much felt uncertain.
Still Raving is a personal prayer for peace and understanding—an arresting image that holds space for those moments when the world feels too loud and too fast, yet still demands our presence.
