Greeley, Colorado Train Depot
7.5” x 5.5” • Acrylic on Paper • Signed Pamela Casarez

Painted on location during a summer paint out with the Greeley Art Association, Greeley, Colorado Train Depot captures both the charm and symbolism of this historic site. Created en plein air by Pamela S. Watson MFA, this 7.5” x 5.5” acrylic on paper balances architectural detail with open space, all under a brilliant Colorado sky.

Seeking shelter from the day’s heat, the artist set up in the shade—an angle that offered a striking view of the depot’s façade cast in soft shadow, contrasted with the bright expanse beyond. To the right, train tracks draw the viewer’s eye into the distance, toward a low tree line and a scattering of buildings, hinting at movement and the idea of “what comes next.”

The depot stands with quiet dignity, flagpoles rising at its side, representing both history and the transient nature of places where people come and go. The bright blue sky and drifting white clouds evoke a sense of openness and possibility.

Greeley, Colorado Train Depot is perfect for collectors who appreciate plein air urban landscapes, Americana, and artworks that reflect on the themes of travel, change, and the spaces between departure and arrival.
