Chit Chat was inspired by a visit to the 1812 Mississinewa reenactment near her home. She originally visited with her child’s class and went back over a series of days to collect photo references. The group of young women in period clothing chatting caught the artist’s attention. The light coming through the umbrella and the interactions between the girls set the stage for this award winning painting. It received numerous awards including best of show at the LaFontaine Arts Council Regional Fine Arts Show.
