This small 7″ x 5″ acrylic painting was inspired by a visit to Hamilton, Ontario, where Canada geese wandered comfortably along a shaded riverside path. In this scene, a goose bends down in the dappled light, searching the ground for small treats left behind by passing visitors.

Painted in deep, rich greens and earthy browns, the composition captures the quiet atmosphere beneath the tree canopy. Breaks in the leaves allow soft light to filter through, scattering patches of brightness across the path and the bird’s feathers.

In Search of Crumbs celebrates the everyday resilience and resourcefulness of a familiar bird, moving through a landscape shaped by both nature and human presence. Even in an ordinary moment along a paved path, there is a small story unfolding in the shifting light.
