Swan, Migration Series

This painting captures a solitary swan moving silently through still water, illuminated by a soft, working light that gives the surface a quiet glow. The sky is not directly visible, appearing only through reflection in the water, where it merges with the mirrored tree line. In the upper portion of the painting, a dark riverbank is subtly suggested, anchoring the composition and emphasizing the swan’s steady passage through the space. The photo reference for this work was taken during my trip to New Harmony in 2023, and the painting was created as part of my ongoing exploration of direction and focus within the Migration series.
