Pine Bluff Covered Bridge – #12 in Series
7.75” x 5.75” acrylic on watercolor paper, signed Pamela Watson (2019)
Pine Bluff Covered Bridge is the 12th painting in Pamela S. Watson’s ongoing series capturing the historic covered bridges of Indiana. Painted in acrylic on watercolor paper, this piece reflects the artist’s deep connection to the rural landscapes of her childhood, especially as this bridge is located near her birthplace.
The painting features a vivid red bridge nestled into a lush, green countryside. A gently winding road leads the viewer toward the bridge, passing a few roadside signs that add a touch of realism to the idyllic setting. The surrounding trees are layered in misty greens, suggesting the quiet of an early morning and the fresh, damp air that often lingers in Indiana’s countryside.
Pamela, an MFA-trained artist, is working on a large-scale project that combines artistic documentation with historical research to preserve the legacy of Indiana’s remaining covered bridges. Each painting in the series is both a personal journey and a celebration of place.
Pine Bluff Covered Bridge – #12 in Series offers more than a scenic view—it is a heartfelt invitation to revisit the slower, more grounded rhythms of rural life and the enduring beauty of Indiana’s hidden treasures.
